This episode is my most personal one yet.
My father was killed in a car explosion. My stepfather was murdered. I was physically and mentally abused. At six and a half years old I thought about ending my life.
And then I made one decision.
Not a big one. Not a dramatic one. Just a quiet decision on an ordinary morning:
I will believe in myself just a little bit more today than I did yesterday.
That's the whole strategy. That's what 36 years looks like.
Your past does not equal your future — unless you carry it with you.
I will never take you to a place I haven't been before.
