At seven years old, I carried a basket of bread through the red dust of Brazil. Selling it meant my family ate that night.
At ten, five boys made a promise: if any of us escaped the violence around us, we would come back and help one another. That promise followed me to America, through years of rejection, corporate boardrooms, stages, a book, and this microphone.
The tools changed. The promise did not.
In this episode, I share where Work Like an Immigrant began, why achievement alone never filled the hole, and how I now use people, technology, and AI to multiply the hunger that changed my life.
What promise from your childhood still shapes the way you live today? Tell me in the comments.
